The microplastics challenge

Microplastics are plastic particles under 5 millimeters in size. Secondary microplastics are caused by abrasion and disintegration of plastic products. We discuss improvements and innovations to reduce the impact of plastics on humanity and the environment.

The fate and transport of micro-plastics

At the Swiss Plastics Expo Dr. Mitrano, Eawag, presents a method that can be used to track plastics with a tracer built into the polymer. This makes it possible to develop a systematic understanding of particulate plastic interactions and processes which drive fate and transport in the environment.
